In Review: Year 2
What a year for me! Although this was my second year in college, it was a year of beginnings for me. I did my first co-op, traveled to Europe, spent my first summer in Cincinnati, joined a sorority and a fraternity, realized that I may head down a different career path, ran a marathon, and took on leadership positions in my clubs! Not too shabby for a sophomore year!
Academically, I did much better round 2. I have now learned how I learn and more importantly, how to overcome the obstacles that I am presented with. I know how to prioritize my time and I put school first. I co-oped in the fall, ended the spring semester with a 3.608 and a 3.361 overall. I even made the Dean's List that semester!
On May 4th, I ran the Flying Pig Marathon. Running a marathon was one of the hardest things I've done. But you know what was even harder? Training for one. I ran almost everyday, at least 4 miles with one long run per week. Being as involved as I am, it would have been easy to make excuses. But I didn't. I trained hard and slow over the course of a year and I became stronger, physically, mentally, and emotionally. It taught me determination and how to keep steady towards a long term goal. Some runs felt good, some didn't. All runs helped me to grow.
Although this was a great year for me, I still have a lot to get excited about. In the fall, my younger sister, Sarina, whom I absolutely adore, is joining me at UC to study accounting. I am so glad that I can be a part of her life again, especially her college journey. I hope to help guide her and be a friend for her always and to grow even closer with her as we both continue down our own life paths. I can't wait to see how the law classes turn out to be. I hope to continue to travel the world and to keep on growing!
