About Me
Hello! My name is Karissa Schroeter and I am going into my 4th year studying chemical engineering at the University of Cincinnati.
I attended Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio where I graduated ninth in my class. I am passionate about learning and I challenged myself in high school by taking ten AP classes. In addition to my studies, I played bass drum in the marching band, was on the speech and debate team, danced, and was involved in many clubs. I also an active volunteer in my community. Every week, I taught sunday school at church, volunteered at a nursing home, and helped build houses with Habitat for Humanity.
Here at UC, I am in the honors program, I volunteer as a bearcat buddy, I am a member of the band service sorority Tau Beta Sigma and the professional engineering fraternity, and I am a proud percussionist in the Bearcat Bands (The UC Band is Damn Good!). My decision to continue band in college was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The people that I have met are amazing and being a part of such an incredible group has given me a sense of belonging to the University of Cincinnati. That's one of the best things that I have discovered about UC. Since I am involved in band, honors, and clubs, I don't feel like I'm just attending classes, but I feel like I belong here because I am an active participant making an impact on those around me. And that's one of the best feelings in the world. That is one of my goals for my life no matter where I go and I am well on my way here at the University of Cincinnati!
Beyond UC, I strive to have a good relationship with my family, my friends, my coworkers, and the community around me. My friends and family mean the world to me. And I want to give back to them. Being able to give is something that is really important for me. It's something that I try to base everything that I do around. Because giving is how we make a contribution to the world and what it's all really about.
I hope you enjoy my website and perhaps my experiences can help shed some light or even inspire you in your life!
